Proposals for Triple Combination Pumping Engine
CLIFFSIDE PARK, NEW JERSEY
Bids opened March 26th, 1928
Scaled bids and proposals will be received at the Borough Hall by the Borough of Cliffside, N. J., on March 26, 1928, at 8:00 p. m., for the following:
One Triple Combination Pumping Engine, Chemical and Hose Motor car.
Motor to be of the six cylinder type; cylinders to be cast in pairs; bore to be not more or not less than 5 1/2″ and stroke to be not more or not less than 6″ horse power to be not more or not less than 72.6 S.A.E. rating.
Pump to be of the rotary gear type without gihbs or springs, and to have a rapacity of 1,000 gallons per minute at 120 lbs. pump pressure.
Tires:—Goodrich Super Semi-Pneumatic.
Chemical tank to be of the Champion Babcock Type.
Crankshaft to be not more or not less than 2 5/8″ in diameter and to have four bearings.
Bidder must maintain a service station within 20 miles of the Borough of Cliffsidc Park where service parts and mechanics arc maintained. Bidder must have at least 1,000 of the machines herein specified in successful operation throughout the United States,
Bidder must guarantee machine for its life or existence, and also to furnish a periodical inspection service during the life or existence of the machine, free of any cost to the Borough of Cliffsidc Park.
A certified check in the amount of $5,000 must accompany all bids. Surety bonds are not acceptable.
If the successful bidder shall refuse or neglect to execute contract within five days after notice of award has been given, the amount of deposit shall he forfeited to and retained by the Borough of Cliffsidc Park as liquidated damage tor such neglect or refusal, hut if they shall execute within the time aforesaid, the amount of deposit shall be returned.
The borough Council reserves the right to reject any and all bids.
