Providence Veteran Firemen Meet.
The annual meeting of the Providence, R. I., veteran firemen was held last week with a large number of members present. The annual election of officers resulted as follows: President—John J. Kean; first vice president—John F. Chapman; second vice president—James McCold; third vice president—Martin P. Feeney; fourth vice president—Ex-Chief Holden O. Hill; recording and financial secretary—Walter H. Hildreth: treasurer—Washington I. Williams (re-elected for the 20th consecutive time): captain of engine—Capt. George Hunt; first lieutenant—Daniel M. Patt; second lieutenant—Patrick C. Henry; chaplain—Rev. Samuel H. Webb; delegate to the N. E. S. V. F. League (for two years)—George Hunt; alternate—Daniel M. Patt; delegate to the R. I. S. League (for two years)—Daniel M. Patt; alternate—John F. Chapman. There are at present on the rolls of the association 358 regular and 144 associate members, making a total of 502. There is also an honorary membership of 49. The report of Treasurer Williams showed the association in excellent financial condition. The excursion to Buffalo next fall received renewed interest and final plans were made to form a Buffalo club. Several applications have been received from surrounding cities and towns for the privilege of accompanying the local association.
