Radiation Kits For New Jersey Schools
The Civil Defense Division of the State of New Jersey has begun distributing radiation detection kits to 160 of the high schools in the state. These are being made available by the Federal Office of Defense and Civilian Mobilization for teaching school children survival from atomic attack.
Each kit contains Geiger counters, radiological survey meters, dosimeters and a device for testing radiation contamination of food and water. Ultimately, it is planned to equip all high schools in the state as well as fire and police stations.
