Recent Southwestern Sales of the American-La France Company
The city of San Antonio, Tex., has contracted for two type 14 motor service hook and ladder trucks equipped with 40-gallon chemical engines at $6,500 each. These trucks will be delivered during January. The city of El Paso, Tex., has also given an order for one of type 12, 105 horsepower triple combination auto fire engines. This order was placed after an exhaustive investigation by the city officials and master mechanic of El Paso. A contract has just been closed with the city of Dallas, Tex., for some of their type 12, 105horsepower auto fire engines at $8,500. With the installation of this machine, the city of Dallas will have eight pieces of auto fire apparatus in their fire department. Denison, Tex., reports they have just closed contract with the American-La France Co. for one of their type 12, 105-horsepower auto fire engines at $8,500. The city of Houston has just received from the plant of the American – La France a 65-foot American automatic water tower. This tower will be tested within a few days in the presence of fire chiefs from various points in Texas. This makes the fourth piece of apparatus delivered to the city of Houston by this company during the present year. The contract for a six-cylinder auto pumping engine for Denison, Tex., recently reported at $7,500, should have read $8,500, as the former figure included taking over a chemical engine, for which $1,000 was allowed.
