Reduction in Indiana Fire Losses
For the year 1922 the fire losses of Indiana showed the splendid reduction of $1,300,000, according to figures recently compiled. In referring to this fact, State Fire Marshal Newman T. Miller is quoted as follows: “This is due to the
fact that the people are co-operating with the fire marshal’s department and the local departments in cities and towns toward wiping out hazards and establishing a public consciousness of fire dangers. When carelessness and negligence cease and intelligence in building structures and handling inflammables is practised, fire damage can be held down and conquered.”
