Registration Open for Vision 20/20 Third National Model Performance in Fire Prevention Symposium

Registration is now open for the Vision 20/20 Third National Model Performance in Fire Prevention Symposium.

  • March 26, 27 and 28
  • Sheraton Baltimore North, Towson, Maryland

This is your opportunity to learn from your peers across the nation about programs that work and that you can replicate in your community.  This Symposium will showcase fire prevention programs that have documented success and that are models of best practices. Programs that have demonstrated a proven record of reducing the risk of fire loss in their communities and that have the potential for implementation in other communities throughout the country were selected for presentation through a peer review process.

Model projects and programs from all disciplines of fire prevention will be presented, including engineering, enforcement, education, fire investigation and infrastructure (e.g., training, use of resources, management). We will include a special focus on Community Risk Reduction principles and best practices related to home visits by fire department personnel to reduce fire hazards in households at highest risk. We will also work together at the Symposium to develop priorities for addressing gaps in current fire prevention activities across the nation.

There will be a number of vendors that will demonstrate their products and services as well, so you will get a chance to learn more about how to use these in your community.  Your registration includes meals during the symposium (a welcome reception, 2 continental breakfasts, 2 lunches, and a dinner) as well as handout materials and Vision 20/20 resources on a USB drive. There is a link for hotel registration (which is not included in the registration fee) at the Symposium registration page. We have negotiated a rate of $97 + 14% taxes per night for Symposium attendees.  The closest airport to Towson is Baltimore Washington International.
