Report: Instructors Help FDNY Recruit to Graduate

The New York Post reported that a Fire Department of New York (FDNY) recruit finally graduated from the fire academy with a little “help” from her instructors.

The Post claims that insiders told them that instructors fudged on the strength, agility, and running requirements of FDNY recruit Choeurlyne Doirin-Holder, 39.

Doirin-Holder reportedly never achieved a passing score of 17 minutes and 50 seconds on the Functional Skills Test, a course of job-related tasks in full gear such as stretching hoses and dragging dummies.

According to the report, Doirin-Holder also failed to run the required 1.5 miles in 12 minutes or less, instead finishing an abbreviated run in 12:06.
