Report of the Boston Protective Department
The thirty-ninth annual report of the Boston Protective Department shows the income of $107,771.60, and expense $104,515.36, leaving a balance on hand, December 31, 1912, of $3,256.24. The department was called upon to respond to 5,386 alarms, of which 2.815 were from city boxes, 378 were still alarms, 203 were automatic, 52 were A. D. T., and 1,908 were still alarms attended by the fire department only. The total insurance was $32,824,559.98; loss insured, $1,055,265.27; loss not insured, $16,606.74. The total insurance of the contents was $12,214,898.60; loss insured, $1,336,944.78; loss not insured, $115,943.52.
