Rescues at Maryland Two-Alarm Apartment Fire

PRINCE GEORGE’S COUNTY, Md. (WJLA) – Firefighters were working a two-alarm fire at an apartment in Hillcrest Heights Tuesday morning that was so intense crews were being forced to evacuate.

Officials say two people were rescued by firefighters and a total of five were being treated by EMS. Only two of those people were taken to the hospital.

The fire has displaced 30 people from their homes and destroyed 11 units at the apartment, ABC7’s Ryan Hughes reports.

A firefighter was also injured and was receiving treatment on the scene.

The Prince George’s Fire Department said the fire broke out in the 3300 block of Curtis Drive and the fire had extended into the roof of the two-story apartment building. Officials say the fire may spread into an adjoining apartment building.
