Salt Lake Firemen’s Salaries Increased

Mavor Park and the commission of Salt Lake City have given all the firemen an increase in salary, effective January 1, 1914. The chief refused an increase at present, taking the view that the men deserved the first increase. The salaries after January 1, 1914, will be: Chief. $2,400; assistant chef, $1,740; captains, $1,500; lieutenants, $1,200; superintendent of fire and police alarms, $1,500; inspectors. $1,260: secretary, $1,-200; fireman, first grade. $1,200; fireman, second grade, $1,080; fireman, third grade, $900.
