September Fire Losses
Fire in the United States caused an estimated $254 million loss in September, an increase of some $32 million above the September 1973 total, according to the Insurance Services Office.
The September figures represent a 14 percent increase over September 1973 and an 18.6 percent increase over the first nine months of 1973.
September Fire Losses
September fire losses amounted to $154,892,000. the National Insurance Actuarial and Statistical Association reported. This was an increase of 17.6 percent from the September 1968 figure of $131,687,000 and a drop of 10 percent from the August 1969 total of $172,137,000.
Fire losses in the first nine months totaled $1,469,735,000, which is 4.6 percent above the $1,404,835,000 registered during the first nine months of 1968.
