The fire department of Spartansburg. S. C., has had a successful year, according to the report furnished by Chief E. S. Kennedy, It states that the amount of property at risk was $411,980; total loss, $71,353, of which $10,500 was Bw a fire on October 28, 1908 and $49,859 on March 12, 1909. Chief Kennedy has recommended that a new fire station be erected on the North Side, and that more boxes be added to fire alarm system.
