Standard Convention Badge

Standard Convention Badge

Chief Howard Dowdell, Meadville, Pa.—I would like to make a motion that the International Association of Fire Engineers select and adopt a standard badge to be furnished members attending all conventions. Some years we have a very large badge, no two years alike and I believe the members would prefer to have a standard.

President Magee—The gentleman is informed that this is a matter for the local chief and hit. committees of the city in which each convention is held.

Chief Dowdell—Then I would make a motion that it be referred to the board of directors.

Ex-Chief Johnston, of Crookston. Minn.—In the matter of the badge furnished members attending conventions, I would say that that is entirely in the hands of the local chief, and very properly so, in my opinion. When they invite us and make arrangements for our convention and for entertaining us I think we should certainly leave in their hands the form of the badge they will furnish. If they wish to use a certain form of wording typifying local or State conditions or history, they should have the right to do so.
