Submit Your Nominations for the NVFC’s Fire Service Awards

Time is running out to nominate an outstanding member of the fire service for one of four prestigious awards from the National Volunteer Fire Council (NVFC). Recognize the achievements of a longtime volunteer firefighter, a fire prevention officer, a junior firefighter, or a junior firefighter program by submitting your nomination today. The deadline for nominations is February 4.

Award recipients win national recognition, a trip to the Washington, DC, metro area for the awards ceremony, and a personalized award. The Junior Firefighter of the Year also receives a $500 stipend towards college courses or fire service training, and the Junior Firefighter Program of the Year receives a $500 grant for junior firefighter program activities.

The NVFC Lifetime Achievement Award, sponsored by Rosenbauer, recognizes a volunteer firefighter who has served at least 20 years and has made a major contribution or achieved significant accomplishments in the volunteer fire service at the local, state, and/or national level. Submit your nomination now.

The NVFC Fire Prevention Award, sponsored by First Alert, honors a volunteer firefighter for remarkable efforts made in the area of fire prevention. Submit your nomination now.

The Junior Firefighter of the Year Award, sponsored by Tyco, honors a junior firefighter or Explorer who has shown extraordinary dedication, commitment, and achievements as a youth member of the fire service. Submit your nomination now.

The Junior Firefighter Program of the Year Award, sponsored by Tyco, recognizes a department that has an outstanding junior firefighter program. The program must have been in operation for at least one year, and departments must demonstrate creativity and community impact for the program. Submit your nomination now.
