The Billings Filtration Plant
At a recent meeting of the City Council of Billings, Mont., a report on the recently completed filter plant was presented by Burns & McDonnell, consulting engineers for that city, the report stating that the filtration apparatus had been given a thorough test as to bacteria and sedimentary purification and that the results of the test proved that the filters were doing better than the contract called for. The report also stated that the work of Hanlon & Okes. in constructing the building, was very satisfactory. The concrete work was reported to be unusually good. The firm also found the pumps and motors to be in splendid condition and all machinery doing better work than the contracts demand. The engineers recommended that when the city is in a position to stand the expense, a larger storage reservoir be constructed.
