THE ELKS ENTERTAINED BY PHILADELPHIA
A Philadelphia paper gives an interesting account of the entertainment provided by prominent merchants and manufacturers of Philadelphia for the delegates to the Elks’ convention recently held in that city. It was arranged by a committee of fifteen local business men, of which Mayor Reyburn was chairman and George W. Costello, of the Cancos Manufacturing company, vicechairman. The delegates were taken on a trip on the Delaware river in the steamer “Sylvan Dell,” and visits were paid to the League Island Navy yard and Industrial establishments. The visiting captains of industry and the visiting newspaper men were further entertained .it the Pen and Pencil club, where a “Night in Bohemia” was performed.
