THE FIRESTONE TIRE AND RUBBER COMPANY.

The Boston store of the Firestone Tire and Rubber company, of Akron, Ohio, was not destroyed in a general fire that recently took place in Beverly street. The Associated Press was responsible for the statement, grounding its dispatch on the fact that some of the old signs bearing the name of the Firestone Fire and Rubber company had been allowed to remain on the burned building after the company’s Boston establishment had been removed in February last to 9 Park square.

An early morning fire at Goldfield, Nev., destroyed the principal hotel; caused the loss of three lives, threatened the safety of the town, and did $40,000 worth of damage. There was no fire protection.
