The Freeport Fire Department

The Freeport, N. Y., fire department, of which Howard E. Pearsall is chief engineer, now has besides a tractor drawn ladder truck five other pieces of apparatus: Three horsedrawn hose wagons, a horse-drawn Nott steamer and a motor hose wagon, and another motor hose wagon, Mack, has been contracted for with the International Motor Company. Recently a 50-gallon chemical tank, which had been mounted on a separate horse-drawn apparatus and has been in service several years, was remounted on the American-La France truck, which was built with the idea of later adding a chemical tank, and which is drawn by a three-ton Mack tractor. The department now has 4,000 feet of all rubber hose in service.
