The Late Robert Ross.
In another column we present an excellent likeness of Robert Ross who was so foully murdered at Troy, N. Y., on election day in March. Mr. Ross was one of the bright young men who have made the Ross Valve Co. noted in this country, and his taking off is a serious blow to the firm. Mr. Ross attended a number of water works conventions and had a host of friends among the members. Hat Shea, who shot Mr. Ross, has been sentenced to death, while McCouch, who shot and w-ounded William Ross, was sentenced to prison for 19 years. Water works are in process of building at Crisfield, Middletown and I.onaconing. This affords a picasing proof of the progress of Maryland towns.
Corry.Pa., is agitating the question of a new water works system to be owned by the city.
