The Monitor Detector System

The Monitor Detector System

The Monitor Detector System for the announcement of fire, auomatic control and closing of factory fire doors and shutters, annunciation of rising temperatures in refrigerating plants, automatic control of dropping asbestos fire curtains and opening exit doors, control of automatic sprinklers, etc., is attractively described in an illustrated booklet just issued by the New York Brass Foundry Company, the manufacturers. The Monitor Detector, the booklet says, is a thermometer, consisting of a steel tube, as a mercury receptacle, to which is attached a lower contact screw, also a regulating screw by which the detector is set to any given degree from the freezing point of mercury up to as high a temperature as conditions require, and a fibre tube with upper contact screw. The system is adapted to factories, homes, theatres, hotels, steamships, barns, garages, etc.
