THE MORSE MONITOR NOZZLE.
Tor many years the firm of Andrew J. Morse & Son, Boston, has held a leading position among manufacturers of brass goods for fire department use. Its Siamese nozzles and standpipes for fireboats have become national in importance, as they are made with great care and delivered only after being thoroughly tested. The illustrations of the Monitor nozzle accompanying this notice show this tine fire-tool in three positions. It is especial lv designed for fireboats, but may b utilised for either purposes where large streams are necessary, and it may be easily worked in all directions. It lias a full-size waterway, and, consequently, throws a solid stream. It may be operated with a lever or with a gear-wheel. There are a large number of these nozzles in use on fireboats, fourteen being in service in Boston and New York alone, while Brooklyn and Baltimore have six. Besides its adaptability for fireboats, it may be used for mill-protection or for yards where valuable property is in danger from fires. Its merits have been approved by the board of fire underwriters and adopted by a large number of fire departments everywhere.
