THE NEXT INTERNATIONAL FIRE CHIEFS’ CONVENTION.

THE NEXT INTERNATIONAL FIRE CHIEFS’ CONVENTION.

Judging from appearances and from all information which the executive committee of the International Association of Fire Engineers and the local committee of arrangements in New York are at present able to afford, the forthcoming annual convention of that body, to be held in this city some time during the month of September, will be a complete success—all the more so, perhaps, because of its taking place in the metropolis of the United States, with all its manifold attractions. The Central Palace on Lexington avenue and Forty-third and Forty-fourth streets, Manhattan, which has been selected as the headquarters and the place of meeting, is more than spacious enough to accommodate all the members and visitors; its auditorium is roomy and well adapted both for speakers and hearers; while for the purposes of the exhibition there is ample space in which to show the largest pieces of fire protective machinery, as well as to manipulate the most delicate work in the way of electric and automatic fire alarm operations. The attendance already promises Jo be greater than usual, and the number and variety of exhibits will apparently exceed that of any previous convention.
