THE NOTT ENGINE FOR BAKERSFIELD.
The following is the order, dated August 15th, received by the Nott Engine company from Bakersfield. Cal., for one of its engines: “Gentlemen: In confirmation of the telegraphic order sent you this date, you are requested to ship to the city of Bakersfield a duplicate of the fire engine you recently sold to the city of Kern, county of Kern. State of California This order is given with the understanding that the price to he paid for said engine will he no greater than the price paid by Kern City for its engine, except that, if you add the ball-bearing wheels., the city of Bakersfield expects to pay the additional charges therefor. The lettering upon said engine to be as follows, to wit: ‘BAKERSFIELD, No. 3/ Byorder of the board of Trustees.
