THE PASSING OF THE MUSCATINE WATERWORKS COMPANY.
(Special correspondence of FIRE AND WATER.)
MUSCATINE, IA., December 8, 1900. The Muscatine, Ia, Waterworks company is now a thing of the past. It has turned over the works to the city in consideration of a payment of $100,000. The transfer took place on December 4, and the plant is now run by three trustees, appointed by the judges of this district. These are as follows: W. L. Roach, Sam. Cohen, T. R. Fitzgerald. They will manage the works for the city as the law provides in this State. There will be no change in the management of the works, the title will be the Muscatine Waterworks, and Supt Molis will still have charge of the system No improvements at all are to be made this winter, and whether any will be made next summer is now too early to consider.
