The Patrol Association.
The annnal meeting of the above association was held in Milwaukee, August 23d, when the following superintendents and captains of the fire patrol service were present: Abbott, of Boston; Williamson, Worcester, Mass.; Shephard, Chicago; Pickhard, Louisville; Hull, New York; Newman, Cincinnati; Swan, Providence; Pellitier, Kansas City, and Curtin, Milwaukee. The following new members were admitted: C. Evans, St. Louis, Mo.; Captain Bulger, New Orleans, and George Stillman, Philadelphia. A motion was adopted to frame constitution and by-laws to govern the association by the following committee : Messrs. Hull, Pelletier, Williamson and Abbott. It was decided that all further meetings of the association l»e held in the same city with the National Association of Fire Engineers and the superintendent of that city to become president of the association for the ensuing year. It was also resolved to admit to membership all commanding office of fire patrol. A motion was carried to have books printed showing all fires caused by incendiarism and the exact nature of same, which will form an accurate record of such fires.
The following officers were elected for the ensuing year : President, M . J. Curtin, Milwaukee ; secretary and treasurer, J. F. Pelletier, Kansas City. This association can be made very useful in the special field it represents, and it ought to be the duty of all commanding officers to see that their names are enrolled as members before the next annual meeting.
