Theodore A. Leisen Appointed Superintendent at Detroit
Theodore A. Leisen, superintendent of the Louisville, Ky., water works, has been appointed superintendent of the Detroit, Mich., water works, and will take up his new position as soon as possible after his contract with Louisville expires on May 1. Mr. Leisen was selected from 185 applicants for the position and will be the highest salaried employee of the city of Detroit. He will receive $6,500 and will devote his entire time to the water department. He succeeds George H. Fenkell, who resigned last year to become commissioner of the public works department. Mr. Fenkell, who received a salary of $4,000, was allowed to do outside work. Mr. Leisen is known as an expert on filtration and as a good hydraulic engineer.
