Owing to the scarcity—amounting to practically a famine—of printing paper the publishers of FIRE AND WATER ENGINEERING have been compelled to limit the size of this issue to less than half of what was originally planned. It was hoped that it would be possible to add several important and interesting features, but at the last minute it was found, on account of this shortage, to be absolutely imperative to “shorten sail,” and keep our pages down to a certain definite limit. However, the number is not so bad after all, at that, is it?
