Three Cities to Disband Salvage Patrols

The Worcester Protective Department and the Chicago Fire Insurance Patrols have voted to cease operations on or before June 30, 1959, and the Underwriters Salvage Corps of Cincinnati has announced its intention to discontinue on or before the same date. The Boston Protective Department is studying a plan of discontinuance at this time.

The action taken in Chicago, Worcester and Cincinnati by the insurance companies follows similar steps taken in other cities including Baltimore, Duluth, Indianapolis, Kansas City, Louisville, Memphis, Milwaukee, Minneapolis, Newark, New Orleans, St. Louis, St. Paul and San Francisco.
