The firemen were thrown to the ground and five of them pinioned beneath the apparatus. Capt. E. S. Doherty was taken to the hospital with a fractured pelvis, injuries to his side a sprained wrist and several cuts and bruises on his face. Three others were badly injured All the men on the truck say that Driver Barry was driving carefully and that the force of the wind was so great as to turn the truck over and badly damage it.
