U. S. SEAMAN DIES FIGHTING FIRE ON SHIP

Honolulu, T. H.—Henry A. Gaddis, seaman, of Sherman, Ill., died of burns received in an heroic effort to extinguish a fire aboard the United States submarine tender Rainbow. Gaddis, who discovered the fire, assisted several others to escape and then turned his attention to fighting it. The ship was only slightly damaged.
