Underwriter Engineers Feasted by Augusta Firemen

Engineers of the National Board of Fire Underwriters, while on an inspection at Augusta, Ga., last week, were entertained at a banquet by members of the local lire departments. Among those present were: C. A. Whitney, representing the fire inspection; R. C. Dennett, representing the water works inspection; R. E. Newell, representing building inspection, and Harry E. Mitchell, the clerk and stenographer of the National Board of Fire Underwriters, and Chairman Geo. W. Wright, of the fire committee of council; R. Roy Goodwin, S. H. Meyers and J. W. McDonald, of the fire committee; T. B. Irvine, R. E. Allen, J. F. Carswell, from council, and Chief F’rank G. Reynolds: Assistant Chief Wm. P. Battle and Secretary J. D. Wiseman, from the fire department. Mr. Whitney, at the personal invitation of Chief Reynolds, slept every night during the three weeks he was here at the fire headquarters and went out on every run with the chief. He got the most minute knowledge of the operation of the Augusta fire department.
