A Toronto dispatch of June 2 states that, “as a result of the campaign which has been conducted by the municipalities of western Ontario for the control of a portion of the power output of Niagara Falls, the Ontario govenment has just closed a contract with one generating company by which 35,000-horsepower will be supplied to these towns at the rate of $10.40 per horsepower per annum, and the government will see to the erection of transmission lines through the province. The project is said to be the beginning of a comprehensive scheme of government control of Niagara power. The whole project has been warmly supported hy the advocates of municipal ownership.”
