Victims of Fire Engine Crash Get Award

A recent California court decision awarded a total of $186,500 in damages for the death of one woman and injuries to four other persons caused by the collision of two Los Angeles City Fire Department apparatus while answering a false alarm in 1958. The accident occurred when one truck was struck broad-side by a second at a street intersection. The first vehicle then careened into and crushed one automobile and damaged another stopped behind. The decision was against the City of Los Angeles.
