W. P. Jayne Chief of Spokane
William Patrick Jayne was appointed Chief of the Spokane, Wash., Fire Department on February 1. He has a department record that dates back to 1901 when he became a member of the fire service. He was appointed Lieutenant in July, 1911; Captain, December 13, 1915; Third Assistant Chief, April, 1929; First Assistant Chief in June 1931.
Chief Jayne received his primary education from the Sisters of the Holy Name and his secondary education from the Jesuit Fathers, at Gonzaga College, in Spokane.
