Ware Superintendent Suceeds Father in Office
As recently accounted in FIRE AND WATER ENGINEERING the board of water commissioners of Ware, Mass., appointed on July 7 John E. Gleason as superintendent of the water works of that city. Mr. Gleason succeeds his father, who passed away recently after many years as the head of the Ware water department.
John E. Gleason was born in Ware, November 1, 1880, and has always lived in the town. A short time after his graduation from school he became connected with the water works department and has served in it for twentytwo years. His appointment as water registrar came in 1909, and in 1916 he was made assistant superintendent. For the past twenty years and until a year ago Super intendent Gleason has been a member of the Ware fire department. He is married and has two children. At the present time the water commissioners do not intend to appoint an assistant superintendent, but have given Superindendent Gleason all the help that he needs.
