Warehouse in Rochester Destroyed

A disastrous fire in Rochester, N. Y., completely destroyed the plant of the Whitney Elevator and Warehouse Company recently, where 100,000 bushels of wheat were stored. The loss is estimated at $500,000. The rapidity with which the flames spread led officials at first to suspect incendiary origin, although two watchmen have been on guard nightly.

At a meeting of the Southwest Grecnsburg. Pa., council held recently, a new fire alarm system was purchased from the Gamewell Fire Alarm Telegraph Company. The contract entered into includes ten noninterfering alarm boxes, of latest type, storage batteries, gong, etc.
