WATER METERS URGED FOR PHILADELPHIA.

WATER METERS URGED FOR PHILADELPHIA.

The question of the installation of water meters in Philadelphia has again been brought prominently to the fore by a report of the Municipal Affairs Committee, of the Philadelphia Board of Trade, in which the committee urges upon the authorities the necessity of the introduction of meters wherever possible. It is feared, in view of the shortage last winter, that unless the use of meters becomes general in the city, that there will be a scarcity of water during the hot weather and next winter. In many other cities this question is equally acute, and will have to be settled with promptitude to avoid a water shortage.
