The filtration plant for Cincinnati, Ohio, at California, was built at a cost of $800,000. The filters were constructed by the Ktrchner Construction company, at a cost of $500,000, and the buildings by the I.. Fid Concrete Steel company, for $.400,000. The American system of filtration has been adopted there in preference to the slow European method. The capacity of the plant h 100,000,000 gal. a day. The daily consumption, however, is only 50,000,000 gal., and, therefore, only about half the filters are being used The ground upon which all the system is located cost the commission $275,000.
