WATER SUPPLY OF MILLERS FALLS.

WATER SUPPLY OF MILLERS FALLS.

The Millers Falls, Mass., water supply district has petitioned the legislature for right to take water from Green pond, which is a part of lake Pleasant, separated by only a short distance, and that the Turners Falls fire district be required to sell water to the Millers Falls district at a reasonable figure. The courts have sustained the position of the Turners Falls fire district, with reference to furnishing water to the part of the district of Millers Falls across the river in the town of Erving. The people of Turners Falls have been willing to supply the part of the Millers Falls district in Montague; but, when the district was extended across the river to include the portion of the village in Erving, the water commissioners felt that that was another matter.
