Water System for Wauconda
The village of Wauconda, in the western part of Lake County, Ill., is planning to install a water system, to cost $15,000. The village has a population of only 400. Specifications of a suitable water system have been drawn up and bids are being awaited at present. The water will be supplied by artesian wells. There will be a standpipe with a capacity of between 20,000 and 30,000 gallons and an engine to pump water into it. At the regular election in April a bond issue of $4,500 will be placed before the people of Wauconda. This will be for the purchase and installation of the engine and standpipe. The three miles of mains and the service pipes will be put in by special assessment.
