Waterous Motor Pumping Engine
Specifications of the Waterous motor driven pumping engine are as follows:
6-cylinder, 7 1/4-inch by 8-inch, 127 h. p., water cooled. Cylinders cast separately. Fitted with improved self-starting aluminum crank case. Three point suspension. Oiling System: Force feed, constant level splash system with sight feed on dash. Capacity of oil reservoir two gallons. Oil passes through double strainers before reaching oil pump. Gasoline Tank: Double tanks are under driver’s seat. Pressure feed. Capacity of each tank 25 gallons. ‘Radiator: Cellular type with fan and centrifugal circulating pump. Frame: Steel: 6-inch channel sections thoroughly braced and riveted. Front axle: Timken-Detroit. roller bearing. Rear Axle: Vanadium steel, heat treaded, 3 1/4-inch square. Drive: Double chain drive with the “Waterous” compensating device. Transmission: Selective type sliding gear. Three speeds forward and reverse. Operated by side lever in H quadrant. Brakes: Service brakes, external band brake on rear wheels, operated by foot pedal. Emergency brake, internal expanding in rear wheels, operated by side lever with ratchet. Clntch: Asbestos fabric faced cone clutch with adjustable relieving springs under fabric. Steering Gear: Worm and sector, irreversible, 19-inch steering wheel with large column. Fenders: Suitable sheet fenders for all wheels. Wheels: Artillery type. “Archibald” make, S. A. E. bands. Front wheels, 42 inches high, fitted with 6-inch solid tires. Rear wheels 42 inches high, fitted with 4-inch dual solid tires. Timken toller bearings throughout. Wheel Rase: 141 inches. Carburetor: Stromherg. Ignition system: “Primary.” Rosch high tension magneto, dual type with coil box. “Auxiliary.” A storage hattery of approved make with timer and 6 cylinder coil. Separate spark plugs and connections for both systems.
The Waterous line includes many other types of apparatus, including combination hose and chemical wagons, propelled by either four or six evlinder engines as desired. The pumping engines may be obtained either with a reciprocating or rotarv impeller type of pump, according to individual preferences. A complete line of gasoline pumping engines adapted for animal power is also manufactured.
