WILLIAM P. OLIVER.
The accompanying portrait is that of William P. Oliver, of the National Meter company. Mr. Oliver is agent for the company in New York, New Jersey and part of the adjoining States, and has represented this territory very successfully for about twelve years. He was previously connected with the wellknown dry goods firm of Arnold, Constable & Co., of New York, for seventeen years. Mr. Oliver is one of the corps of lecturers of the New York city’s board of education, his special subjects being: “An Evening with James Whitcomb Riley,” “An Evening with Eugene Field,” and “Humor and Contemporary Humorists.” His agreeable personality has won for him many friends, as well in a social sphere as in his line of business. Mr. Oliver is a clever entertainer, having studied special subjects upon which he lectures in a finished and attractive style. His recital from the works of James Whitcomb Riley at the West Baden convention of the American Water Works association will be remembered with pleasure by those who were fortunate enough to he present on that occasion.
