Winfield, Kan., Pumper Not Sent on Tour
In an account of the new “Metropolitan V-12″ type pump and hose cars of the American-La France and Foamite Corporation, appearing in the September 2 issue of FIRE ENGINEERING, it was stated that a pumper to be delivered to the Fire Department of Winfield, Kan., had been taken on an extensive tour through the middle West, en route to its destination. This was an error, as the Winfield car was delivered direct. The apparatus which went on tour, and which aroused much interest among Chiefs and other Fire Department officials who witnessed its efficient performance, was strictly a demonstrator. There were 24 orders received by the corporation for this type of car during the month of July.
