YOUNGSTOWN BUYS ANOTHER NOTT ENGINE.
The city of Youngstown, Ohio, has given a contract to the Nott Fire Engine company, for one of the Nott latest improved piston-valve steam fire engines. The city received bids from all the different manufacturers in the United States, and, after due deliberation and the opinions of experts, together with the excellent service rendered by the Nott engine that has been in the Youngstown department for the past several years, it was decided to give the contract to the Nott company. The new engine will embody many improvements over the Nott engine, ’.which the city has had in service, and which, by the way. was the first engine of the first-size with spirat. water-tube boiler that the N’ott company ever turned out. The hard service and excellent results obtained at Youngstown should prove the high standard of construction and efficiency attained by the N’ott engine. It is expected the engine will be delivered within the next thirty days.
