Nearly a dozen people were hospitalized after a possible carbon monoxide leak at a Maine day care on Wednesday.
At about 3:19 p.m. on Wednesday, the Kittery Public Safety Dispatch received a call of potential carbon monoxide in a nearby daycare called Building Blocks, which is located at 1 Route 236 in Kittery, Maine.
Day care workers had called 911 after children got headaches and began feeling nauseous, WCVB reported.
There were 27 children and approximately 10 staff in the building at the time of the call. Some of the children at the day care were as young as sex weeks old, the news outlet reported.
Seven people taken to the hospitals for non-life threatening injuries, the Kittery Fire Department said. Four more people arrived to the emergency room later, WCVB reported.
There have been no deaths and no serious injuries identified as of Wednesday, the fire department said.
The cause of the incident is being investigated by the State Fire Marshall.
