A Tacoma indoor shooting range that was the scene of a fatal fire will be closed indefinitely.
“Bull’s Eye is currently not in a state to operate safely, but we plan to rebuild and reopen,” Bull’s Eye Indoor Range posted Monday on Facebook.
A fire broke out at the business about 6:15 p.m. Sunday, the Tacoma Fire Department reported. One person was found dead inside the building at 414 Puyallup Ave. Another was injured and taken to a local hospital. Their identities have not been publicly released.
On Monday, Tacoma Fire reported on X that the fire appears to have started in a classroom area where live ammunition and electrical equipment was stored.
“While the exact cause of the fire is unclear, the fire appears to be unintentional,” according to the X post.
Bull’s Eye Indoor Range provided additional details in its Facebook post.
“Last night at about 6:15pm we experienced a 2 alarm fire that engulfed the second story of the building,” the post said. “All customers were evacuated safely by range staff as well as customers who themselves took charge in ensuring everyone on range made it out safely.”
The business expressed gratitude for the well wishes it has received.
“… your thoughts and prayers have been very heartwarming these past 12 hours,” its Facebook post said.
