Fire Erupts at Sports Bar in Mentor-on-the-Lake (OH)

Firefighters battled a fire that broke out early this morning at the Cardinal Sports Bar and Grill on Andrews Road.

Mentor-on-the-Lake Fire Chief James Pechatsko told News 5 Cleveland that eight fire departments assisted with efforts to extinguish the fire, which reportedly started in the back of the building.

Firefighters were able to knock down the fire on the first floor with an interior attack, but could not gain access too the second floor. Aerial hoses had to be used to put out the fire on the second floor.

The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
