Salina, N.Y. — Firefighters from multiple departments responded to a fire Tuesday night at the New York State Thruway Office Building.
Firefighters were called to the office building at 290 Elwood Davis Road for a reported fire at 7:45 p.m., according to Onondaga County 911 dispatchers. Smoke could be seen filing the first floor of the three-story building; at 8:10 p.m., it was reported by dispatchers that the second floor of the building had collapsed into the first floor.
While fire could not be seen from outside the building, large amounts of smoke could be seen coming from the entrance.
Firefighters could be seen using large fans to attempt to ventilate the building. As of 11 p.m., firefighters were still on the scene.
Various businesses use the office building, including the Utica College nursing annex, LIFEPlan CCO NY, and Advocates Inc.
