A fire at a landfill on Everman Parkway on Wednesday night prompted a response from 43 firefighters and two fire departments, officials with the Fort Worth Fire Department said on Facebook.
A 911 caller reported seeing a large fire on top of a hill at about 9 p.m. Wednesday, officials said.
The caller was unable to tell what was on fire but suggested that a building might be burning, according to the Facebook post.
Crews responded to the scene in the 5800 block of Everman Kennedale Burleson Road and determined that the landfill was on fire, officials said.
Crews from the Everman Fire Department provided a water tanker to the scene, officials said.
It took fire crews until 11 p.m. to put out the fire and make sure it wouldn’t restart, according to the statement.
