NH Firefighters Extinguish Car Fire Started by Incendiary Device

Paul Feely – The New Hampshire Union Leader, Manchester

Jan. 23—Police and fire officials are investigating after a car was intentionally set on fire Wednesday evening, possibly with a Molotov cocktail.

Nashua police confirmed Thursday that a vehicle parked outside a multi-unit residential building at 66 West Hollis St. was burned Wednesday. Firefighters and police responded to reports of multiple vehicles on fire behind the building about 6:40 p.m.

“The car was intentionally lit on fire,” Nashua Police Sgt. John Cinelli said in an email. “A device believed to be a Molotov cocktail was used to start the fire.”

The fire spread to a nearby vehicle and a pickup truck parked nearby is also believed to have been damaged due to intense heat, officials said.

The vehicle was unoccupied and no injuries were reported, Cinelli said.
